The European Observatory was launched on February 8, 2024 at the European Parliament. It comprises 5 different themes: Town center management, trade, crafts and markets, Logistics and last-mile delivery, Culture and animation, Housing and urban life, Urban planning and sustainable mobility.
The European Observatory for Logistics and last-mile delivery is co-chaired by Anne-Marie JEAN, Vice-President of the Strasbourg Eurometropolis.
Logistics and last-mile delivery are crucial for city centers, as they guarantee rapid supply for businesses, improve customer satisfaction and support local commerce. In recent years, we’ve seen an explosion in questions about these areas. Efficient logistics reduce traffic congestion and emissions, contributing to environmental sustainability. They also improve urban mobility and public safety, create jobs and promote economic growth. Implementing intelligent logistics solutions and adapting to consumer trends improves service quality and convenience for residents. In short, efficient logistics and delivery systems are essential to the economic, social and environmental well-being of city centers.
